STILL LIFE WORKSHOP - Light and Matter

The workshop is aimed at enthusiasts who intend to compete with the fascinating world of object photography and aims to give participants a basic knowledge of equipment, photographic and post-production techniques in Still Life photography.

Knowledge of the materials of which the subjects are composed (opaque, glossy etc.) and their lighting for the best photographic rendering. Exercises on the same materials with the use of different lighting sources

All this will be structured in a simple way, in the form of dialogue and without "technicalities", with practical examples to illustrate the solutions to the problems. Knowledge of the possibilities of post-production software to make use of details

characteristics in the recovery phase aimed at obtaining better results and optimizing times.

PLAN:

During the day, the various techniques of treatment of the different materials will be illustrated, the design of the workflow according to the subsequent post-production work, the optimization and conversion of the file ready for retouching. Shooting equipment: knowledge of the camera and the objectives, to evaluate the different characteristics according to the different uses and characteristics of the subjects to be filmed.

I use the best tools to obtain a technically "perfect" photograph.

The light:

Knowledge of types and qualities of light and illumination sources.

Like when and why to use one light rather than another, how to integrate an existing light to get a technically correct photo.

Knowledge of materials and their reaction to different light sources

Practical test on a simple object to understand the effects of light well using studio flashes and wireless portable flashes Post-production Knowledge of digital shooting and archiving formats (RAW, TIFF, JPEG etc.), color profiles, when, how and why to use one rather than the other.

Duration of the ws: One day from 9.30 to 18.30 (there will be a lunch break)
